About Me

Jane Chaikowsky’s experience in the jewelry field began in 1987. She worked in several types of jewelry store establishments gaining experience in all aspects of jewelry sales design and manufacturing. In 1994, Jane opened Chaikowsky Jewelry Appraisals, an independent jewelry appraisal company serving the public, banking facilities, lawyers and the jewelry trade.

Jane is a Certified Senior Member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, a Graduate Gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America and an Accredited Senior Gemologist of the Accredited Gemologists Association. She completed a class on the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice with the Appraisers Association of America at New York University and continues to educate herself on an ongoing basis. She is an active member of the GIA Delaware Valley Alumni Association and is a Business Partner with the National Association of Insurance Women (NAIW) Lehigh Valley Chapter. Jane received a prestigious GIA Alumni Achievement Award 2007 - Delaware Valley Chapter.

She is often asked to lecture at local schools, museums, insurance groups and other organizations and events. She has published several articles on jewelry related topics, such as “Getting at the Truth” and “Tiffany & Co., New Laser Inscription” and appeared on NBC10- Philadelphia News “Consumer Alert- Beware of Buying Diamonds on Impulse”. She was saluted by the Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal as a rising business achiever in “20 Under 40”.

Jane provides expert witness testimony and is considered a qualified appraiser under IRS Guidelines [Section 170(f)(11)(E)(ii)]. She specializes in appraising all types of jewelry, diamonds, gemstones, watches and silver flatware. Everything from large estates to just one item are handled promptly and efficiently. Your items will be appraised while you watch in our office or in the comfort of your own home, office or banking facility using a portable gemological laboratory.
